Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court Privacy and Security Statement 

Welcome to the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court’s (“Court”) website. The following is the Court’s privacy and security statement for all users of our website and is intended to disclose to you the Court’s privacy practices. Cookies.  The Court’s website is platformed on Google Sites. You may select this link to review Google’s cookie policy

The Court utilizes Google Analytics to track the number of hits to the Court’s website and individual web pages, the informational documents supported on the website, and forms supported on the website. Google Analytics may collect the demographics of the user, but no personal user data is collected. Any information gathered by the Court through its use of cookies is anonymous.

If you’ve filled out a form generated from the Court’s website, we will use that information to respond to you, to fulfill your public records request, or to carry out the Court’s duties under the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Act.

The Court regularly receives and responds to public records requests.  The Court is subject to the Nebraska Public Records Act, which provides in part: 

Except when any other statute expressly provides that particular information or records shall not be made public, public records shall include all records and documents regardless of physical form, of or belonging to the state, any county, city, political subdivision, or tax-supported district in this state, or any agency, branch, department, board, bureau, commission, counsel, subunit, or committee of any of the foregoing. Data which is a public record in its original form shall remain a public record when maintained in computer files. [Neb. Rev. Stat. § 84-712.01(1).] 

Pursuant to the Nebraska Public Records Act, the Court may disclose your information, except for such information that is deemed private or confidential by federal or state law.  

We also may disclose your information in special cases. For example, we may disclose such information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, or when we believe that we must disclose information to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be violating our terms and conditions of use, or may be causing injury to or interference with our rights or property, other websites users, or customers and their information, or anyone else who may be harmed by such activities.
